FAQ

Costs

Every project is unique so it is difficult to quote without some information first. The more information provided the more accurately we can quote.

We charge each project based on the usage of the laser cutter. Rastering often takes longer than cutting due to the way the laser cutter works; therefore if you require lots of rastering, then the cost will be more.

We charge for the sheet materials used, delivery and any additional services such as masking or vector drawing.

We can provide an estimate based on similar jobs we have cut previously however for an accurate quote specific to your project we would need as much information from you as possible.

Payment will need to be made prior to us cutting your job.

Delivery & turnaround

Once we have received your artwork and have provided you with a cost, you will need to reply via email to confirm you are happy to proceed. We need this approval in writing to process your job. Once payment has been made we will start cutting your job.

A standard turnaround for most jobs, including delivery, is 3-4 working days. This depends on artwork preparation and the size of the job.  We always aim to meet specific deadlines.

Rush jobs (24 hours) are charged at a premium rate as we work to a timetable. Any work processed over the weekend will be classed as a rush job.

Delivery is calculated by weight. Prices are from £15 for next day UK courier.

Artwork Preparation

Our laser bed size is 800mm x 450mm. Why not download one of our drawing templates here? Most materials sheet sizes are cut to bed size, but please double check our list of materials as some might be smaller.

In order to cut and engrave we require a vector file. Below is a list of file formats we accept.

- DWG (Can be exported from AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Illustrator)

- AI  (Adobe Illustrator)

- PDF (Can be exported from most drawing programs)

- JPG and PNG (It is possible to raster and engrave images but they must be saved as grayscale)

We can produce a vector drawing for you based on the information you provide us. Our drawing service starts from £45.

Materials

We can cut from a wide range of materials: Veneer, perspex, plywood, paper & card, MDF, cork sheet, some fabrics. Please check out our materials page for further information.

We can’t lasercut metal or stone.

Yes of course. Our wide selection of materials covers most of the common materials used across the different sectors however if you wish to provide your own please mention this when contacting us.

The laser will burn the edge of most materials. The laser will also affect the surface of the material too. We offer a masking service which will limit the surface burn. This is particularly useful on materials such as veneer, MDF, plywood and card.
